So....got my first 'wings' this labor day weekend! XD Involved in a motorcycle accident with my uncle Ray (who is undoubtedly the most awesome motorcycle driver I have ever known and has not crashed in over 22 years). Which sucks, cause his bike was amazingly gorgeous and awesome and road sex all in one package with over 85,000 miles on it (his goal was 100,000). We got sided by some loser who misused his blinkers and tried making a wide right turn with his left turn signal. IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO PASS SOMEONE ON THE RIGHT SIDE WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN WITH THEIR LEFT TURN SIGNAL ON. Hence, we jumped forward to pass him (my uncle Brian behind us on the warrior about to do the same) and the freaking truck, trailing a boat, turned sharp right into our side and pushed us off the road at about 25 - 30 mph. Took out a nice 4 by 8 stopsign/streetsign and smashed someone's fence, and we both took a nice roll.
Luckily, it was a clean spill ~ I rolled twice and bounced up, and asked Ray if he was ok the same time he asked me XD, then tried to step and my left leg wouldn't support my weight.
Lol I'm heavy, but not THAT heavy...so yea, my uncle Brian was like lightning and picked me up off the gravel and got me to some grass.
*sigh*
Spent the rest of the ride with uncle Ray and the towtruck guy contemplating on all the things that could have, might have, or maybe should have and didn't happen about the scenario. Got me some x-rays when I got home and thus, I have a broken fibula towards the ankle connection. Might need surgery. We'll see. Everyone else was peachy.

And yes, crutches suck. It's a love-hate mutual. Whatever.

I can't wait to get my own bike. <3

:ambulance:

Hope you're gonna be ok.

As they say, there's only 2 types of riders... ones that have fallen, and ones that are gonna fall.

Congrats on losing your motorcycle crash cherry :XD:

True understanding is difficult
Lucky, It was not your arm which was broken.
That reminds me when I've fallen from a horse when it was running, I managed to protect my arms, then I got up and ran after the horse.

Speaking about motorbikes, my bro's got a fucking big one and very heavy, dunno how he can ride with it, but it sure rocks.

Get well as fast as possible

I'm French! Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king-a?!
Glad to hear the accident hasn't made you dislike riding. Hope your leg heals nice and fast!

Remember, Remember the 11th of September, when two brothers feel in agony and dispair. It will only be, when this country unites, that they will Rise again to the Air.
It's awesome that you didn't let the accident cloud your desire to get your own bike! Get better soon. :)
Even if they won't give you a real cast, I still want to sign your splint.
Ouch that sucks, though its good to hear that there were no fatalities. I use to ride a dirt bike, I crashed into a barb wire fence. That didn't stop me, then I rolled down a steep hill while riding the narrow path at the top. Pushed the bike three miles bleeding badly back to my dads truck. Never rode again, deer jumped out in front of me. Any way hope you get better soon and that surgery isn't required. By the gods I despise crutches. Take care and again get well soon.
